Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.  Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.  So by their fruits you will know them.”  (Matthew 7:17-20)

  • For the month of March, we are focusing on the Fruit of Generosity.
  • Generosity by definition is the quality of being kind.  When we practice the virtue of generosity, we are able to give even when we don’t benefit from that giving or there is a cost to ourselves.  We are told in the book of Acts, In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way, we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
  •  Here is a practical way you can exhibit Generosity in your life: (Use your Time, Talent and Treasure)
  • Call a friend or family member you have lost touch with and invite them for dinner. {TIME}
  • During the month of March, make a recipe that can be easily frozen, make a double batch and give it to a neighbor or friend who is really having a difficult time in their life. {TALENT}
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see people who are in need, pay the bill for the car behind you at a Fast Food Restaurant. {TREASURE}
  •  Visit a local nursing home for an hour and share a talent you have.  Or just be present and listen to the residents’ stories.  {TIME & TALENT}
