Music Ministry at St. Joseph Parish

We worship the Lord with a wide variety of traditional and contemporary liturgical music. If you are interested in joining one of our choirs or ensembles at 5:00, 7:00, 8:45, or 10:30 Masses, please contact Scott Pluff at 636-441-0055 x106 or worship@stjoecot.org. For information about the 12:15 LifeTeen Mass, contact Kyle Huelsing at kylephuelsing@yahoo.com. You are welcome to check out a choir or ensemble with no obligation by attending a rehearsal.

With One Voice Youth Choir
Sings for Saturday 5:00 Mass once per month during the school year, 6:00 Mass on Christmas Eve, the St. Louis Children’s Choir Festival in May, as well as other special events throughout the year. Rehearsal is Wednesday from 5:00 to 5:45 in the Parish Center, or current members of our school Liturgical Choir can learn the WOV Choir music during their Liturgical Choir practices, no additional rehearsals required. Traditional Choir
Sings at the 8:45 Sunday Mass September through June, rehearses on Thursdays at 7:00 pm in church. Sings a variety of musical styles, focusing on traditional hymns and choral anthems. Instrumentation includes organ, piano, guitar, flute. Regular attendance is ideal. Join for the full 10-months or for Advent/Christmas or Lent/Easter seasons.

Contemporary Choir
Sings at the 10:30 Sunday Mass September through June, rehearses on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center. Sings a variety of musical styles, focusing on contemporary songs. Instrumentation includes piano, guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, trombone. Regular attendance is ideal. Join for the full 10-months or for Advent/Christmas or Lent/Easter seasons.

LifeTeen Ensemble
Leads music at the 12:15 Sunday Mass year-round, rehearses before Mass and as needed during the week. Instrumentation includes guitar, piano, bass, drums, violin.

Cantors
Proclaim the psalm and lead the assembly in sung prayer. Ability to read music and independently prepare music in advance are required. We also have a group of student cantors drawn from members of the With One Voice Youth Choir. Scheduling is flexible, call to schedule an audition.

Ensemble and Orchestral Instruments
We welcome a variety of woodwinds, brass, strings, keyboard, and percussion instruments. Proficiency at your instrument, ability to read music, and ability to independently prepare music in advance are required. Scheduling is flexible, call to schedule an audition
