Music Ministry at St. Joseph Parish
We worship God with a wide variety of sacred music. If you are interested in joining one of our choirs or ensembles, please contact Scott Pluff at 636-441-0055 x106 or worship@stjoecot.org to schedule an audition.

Contemporary / Family Choir
Sings at the 10:30 Sunday Mass on the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Sundays of the month September through mid-June, rehearses on the preceding Thursdays 6:15-7:15 PM in the Parish Center Music Room. Leads congregational singing and adds harmony to hymns, psalms, and acclamations. Open to high school students through adults, plus students in grades 4-8 are welcome to sing if a parent or grandparent sings with them. Flexible scheduling, no minimum attendance.

Traditional Choir
Sings at the 8:45 Sunday Mass every week September through mid-June, rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30-9:00 PM in the Parish Center Music Room. Sings a choir anthem most weeks in addition to leading congregational singing. Open to high school students through adults. Regular attendance is expected.

Combined Choir
Members of the Contemporary and Traditional Choirs join together several times per year for celebrations including Thanksgiving, the Easter Triduum, and our parish’s 150th Anniversary celebrations in 2023.

Returning College Students
Students who return home for the holidays are welcome to sing with one of our choirs if they are able to independently prepare music in advance.

LifeTeen Ensemble
Leads music at the 12:15 Sunday Mass year-round, rehearses before Mass and as needed during the week. Instrumentation includes guitar, piano, bass, drums, violin. For more information, contact Kyle Huelsing at kylephuelsing@yahoo.com

St. Joseph School Liturgical Choir
Sings at the 10:30 AM Mass on the 1st Sunday of the month during the school year. Membership is open to students of St. Joseph School, and placement is by audition. For more information, contact Marti Good at mgood@stjoecot.org

Cantors
Proclaim the psalm and lead the assembly in sung prayer. Ability to read music and independently prepare music in advance are required. Scheduling is flexible and placement is by audition.

Brass Ensemble
Plays several times per year including Christ the King, Christmas Midnight Mass, Epiphany, Easter Sunday, and Pentecost. Ensemble includes regular players plus substitutes for 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, timpani. College-level skill and ability to independently prepare music in advance are required. Placement is by audition.   

Orchestral Instruments

We welcome a variety of woodwinds, brass, strings, keyboard, and percussion instruments. Proficiency at your instrument, ability to read music, and ability to independently prepare music in advance are required. Scheduling is flexible, and placement is by audition.
