A message from our Pastor

A message from our Pastor

UPDATE, March 19, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

Effective immediately, all Masses (daily and Sunday), Stations of the Cross, all group services, Bible Studies and activities are to cease.

The Archbishop has dispensed all Catholics in our Archdiocese from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass through April 5th.

Priests will continue to celebrate Masses without a congregation, but those Masses will include the assistance of at least one other adult minister if possible.

The celebrations of weddings and funerals will be at the decision of the pastor.  The Archdiocese of St. Louis has recommended limiting attendance at these sacred events to immediate family members only or rescheduling.

The Anointing of the Sick, Reconciliation of sins (Confession) and Holy Communion to the sick will still be available to parishioners with certain adjustments.

St. Joseph Parish priests will continue to support the needs of our parishioners. We understand the economic impact that this emergency is having on our community as a whole. In times like this, it is even more urgent for us to pray for and assist our brothers and sisters who are in the most need. Please see the letter below from our St. Vincent de Paul Society.

In regard to the Sunday collections, please be aware that essential to the continued operations of our parish and its mission, you are encouraged to use online giving (Faith Direct), drop-off or mail your contributions.

Let us continue to pray for those individuals suffering from the coronavirus and for all nations who are trying to control the spread of this disease.

Thank You and God Bless!
Msgr. Callahan
