Requirements for Admission


Catholic schools are unique expressions of the Church’s effort to achieve the purposes of Catholic education among the young. Academic excellence and a disciplined formation will always be the desired goals of the Catholic school. Central to the school, however, is the understanding of the Catholic tradition and growth in faith. Parents wishing to enroll their children in a Catholic school must understand and agree to the purposes of Catholic schools.

Admission to a Catholic elementary school at any point of entry is contingent upon:
  1. The family’s desire for this special kind of school where Catholic teaching and moral formation are an integral part of the school;
  2. The child’s fulfillment of the age requirements listed below:
    a. for admission to kindergarten, the child should be five years of age before August 1;
    b. for admission to first grade, the child should be six years of age before August 1.
  3. The school’s ability to meet the student’s educational needs; Determination of this ability is based upon:
    a. the student’s performance in another educational setting;
    b. successful completion of the previous grade level;
    c. successful completion of the entrance evaluation process
  4. The parent’s willingness to accept the financial responsibilities of attending the school. (Taken from the Administrator’s Manual for Catholic Education, #4102.1)

Incoming Kindergarten and New Student Registration

Parents interested in St. Joseph School may inquire by calling Mrs. Erin Offerman at (636) 441-0055 ext. 210 or by email at eofferman@stjoecot.org. New families may schedule a tour of the school, receive an information packet, and obtain registration materials for the 2020 – 2021 school year.

St. Joseph School Tuition Payment Options 2020-2021 (attach voided check)
Emergency Medication Consent Form
St. Joseph School Health History/Emergency Authorization Record 2020-2021
Archdiocese of St. Louis School Health Manual Physical Examination Form (must be dated between 8/17/19 and 8/17/20)
-Most Current Immunizations
-Copy of birth certificate (new students only)
-Copy of Baptismal certificate if applicable (new students only, even if Baptized at St. Joseph Church)
-Copy of First Communion certificate (new students only, if applicable)
-Registration Fee (refunded if not accepted)

*Please note: Kindergarten acceptance letters will go out after Kindergarten screenings in March of 2020.

Re-Registration of Current Students for 2020-2021

Re-registration Online Only: Due Monday, February 24, 2020.

A reminder that our registration fee is $250 per child (or $200 per child for those who submit all items for registration by Monday, February 24, 2020). For financial assistance information please call Katie Boehmer at 636.441.0055 x162.

If you have not re-registered your student(s) by February 24, 2020, please contact Erin Offerman at eofferman@stjoecot.org. Students who are not re-registered are considered not enrolled at St. Joseph School and will not be put into classes for next year.

Financial Aid Available for 2020-21 (K-8th grade only)

Fill out one application for all the financial assistance programs at the Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation’s website: www.ttef-stl.org. The 2020-21 open application period will begin on January 27, 2020 and close on February 28, 2020.

*Please note families will not be considered for tuition assistance from St. Joseph Parish unless they have applied for a scholarship through the Today & Tomorrow Educational Foundation first.
