Dear Parishioners, Recently the Archbishop informed us that as of Monday, May 18th, we will be able to celebrate public Masses in the church.  As you can imagine, there are numerous directives which must be followed in order to safely celebrate the Mass in public. A thorough explanation will be given on Wednesday, May 20th, at 7:00 p.m. in my weekly live stream of Conversations with the Pastor on the parish face book page on our website. From Monsignor Callahan – Ministry Meetings Online

Dear Parishioners, Hopefully, Easter was a joyous time for all of you and you were able to watch our Easter Triduum Services and Easter Sunday Masses.  We are now in the Easter season and normally this would be a time of First Holy Communions and Confirmations.  Both of these sacraments will be scheduled at a later time.  The Archbishop has delegated me to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation upon our eighth graders when the time is appropriate. As difficult as it is, I am trying to maintain some sense of relative normalcy for our parish organizations, ministries and committees.  What…

Message from Msgr. Callahan, Fr. Schneier and Fr. Nord

A heartwarming video message from our Priests. A must watch!

Message from Msgr. Callahan-April 19

Dear Parishioners, Hopefully, everyone was able to enjoy Easter under the circumstances.  It seems that many parishioners clicked on to the live streaming of our Easter Triduum services and the Easter Sunday Masses. I appreciate that many of you are taking the time to watch both Sunday and weekday Masses. For your information, the Archbishop has extended the dispensation of attending Sunday Mass through the end of April. In addition to that, our First Holy Communions, Confirmation and Graduation ceremony have been postponed until further notice.  I have been delegated to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on our 8th graders…

From Monsignor Callahan – Holy Week Services

Dear Parishioners, Now that we are in Holy Week, I will try to clarify when the church will be open and closed to the public. Our services for the Easter Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil) will be at 7:30 p.m. each evening.  The doors of the church will be locked during these times.  We are restricted as to the number of people who can be in the church during these services. On Holy Thursday, the church will be open from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. The church will be closed during the Mass of the Lord’s Supper from 7:30 p.m.-9:00…

Message from Msgr. Callahan – April 5, 2020

Dear Parishioners, As you can well imagine, our Holy Week services will be greatly modified this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. All the services for the Easter Three Days (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil) will be at 7:30 p.m. and will be live-streamed from our church.  We are limited to ten people in attendance at these services and this includes the priests, servers and music director. Following the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, the church will be open until 10 p.m. for personal and private prayer.  On Good Friday, the church will be…

Message from Msgr. Callahan – March 21, 2020

Dear Parishioners, Let me first say that all of you are in my prayers and I know both Frs. Schneier and Nord are also praying for you. This Sunday at 8:00 a.m., I will be having Mass with our Dominican Sisters in their convent chapel and I will offer my Mass for each and every one of you. This afternoon we received notification from Archbishop Carlson that all public liturgies for Holy Week including Easter Sunday are suspended. These liturgies will be celebrated in private here at St. Joseph Parish with no more than 10 people in attendance. But they…

Message from Msgr. Callahan – March 19, 2020

Dear Parishioners, As you know we are live streaming Masses Monday-Friday at 8 a.m. and Saturday at 5:00 p.m. As you may know, you can watch our Masses anytime of the day. The priests are still hearing confessions. Our confessional screens have been fitted with extra fiber and plastic. All confessions are to be behind the screen. I am allowing funerals and weddings at this time. But attendance is restricted to family members only and no more than 50 people present. An unfortunate consequence of the coronavirus is that our revenues have dropped significantly. Some of you are on Faith…

A message from our Pastor

UPDATE, March 19, 2020 Dear Parishioners, Effective immediately, all Masses (daily and Sunday), Stations of the Cross, all group services, Bible Studies and activities are to cease. The Archbishop has dispensed all Catholics in our Archdiocese from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass through April 5th. Priests will continue to celebrate Masses without a congregation, but those Masses will include the assistance of at least one other adult minister if possible. The celebrations of weddings and funerals will be at the decision of the pastor.  The Archdiocese of St. Louis has recommended limiting attendance at these sacred events to immediate…
